Family Program~ Family Forest Fun


 Join us for seasonal woodland walks
on the beautiful grounds of Villa Maria






This program is designed for families with kid-friendly activities and a take home project.

Lead by experienced Farm-Based Environmental Education Teacher Sr. Jeanne Thurin, HM.
Sister Jeanne is a Sister of the Humility of Mary and Environmental Education Program Associate at Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center. She teaches Farm-Based Environmental Education on Villa Maria Farm and in classrooms. Having taught all grades in elementary school for more than 30 years, she brings a special expertise in hands-on science and environmental education. Sr. Jeanne holds a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from St. John College of Cleveland (now closed) and a Master of Arts in Religious Education from La Salle University in Philadelphia. She became an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist in 2006 and an Ohio Certified Environmental Educator in 2011and is certified to facilitate all the Project WILD workshops as well as Early Childhood Project Learning Tree, Healthy Water, Healthy People and Project Food, Land and People.  In her free time Sister Jeanne enjoys cooking, baking and making animal balloons as JOT the Clown.
